PORT ARTHUR, Texas – Zion Young scored 19 points, but the Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks saw their upset bid of 25th-ranked Panola College fall just short in a 61-54 loss to the Ponies at the Carl Parker Center on Wednesday evening.

The Seahawks (6-3 overall, 0-1 Region XIV) were tied with Panola at 52-52 with just over four minutes remaining, but Panola (5-4, 1-0) closed out the game on a 9-2 run to claim the victory.

It was the first loss at home this season for the Seahawks, who had won six straight at the Carl Parker Center.
