PORT ARTHUR, Texas – The Lamar State College Port Arthur Seahawks look to continue their dominance at home when they host the Lee College Navigators at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a Region XIV men's basketball game at the Carl Parker Multipurpose Center.
The Seahawks (10-8 overall, 4-6 Region XIV) are 10-1 at home, including a Jan. 17 61-55 victory over Trinity Valley Community College, which was ranked seventh in the nation at the time.
Sophomore guard Zion Young leads LSCPA in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game. Freshman Nisani Mendez averages 13.3 points per game. Sophomore center Martin Adonry, who averages 9.6 points and a team-best 10.1 rebounds per outing, leads the Seahawks with six double-doubles. Sophomore forward Isaiah Brooks has three double-doubles and is averaging 9.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per outing.
Lee (11-7, 6-4) claimed a 95-74 homecourt win over the Seahawks on Jan. 7. The Navigators have four players averaging in double figures in scoring, led by sophomore guard Shamiere Green, who averages 14.4 points per game.
The Seahawks are at Trinity Valley Community College at noon Saturday before returning home to host Coastal Bend at 7 p.m. Feb. 4.
